The Vermont Workforce Development Board is charged by the federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) to certify Vermont's federally-recognized comprehensive One-Stop American Job Center (AJC). A One-Stop AJC is a physical location where job-seekers and employers can access the programs, services, and activities of all One-Stop partners. Vermont has a single One-Stop AJC located in Burlington. A comprehensive list of the One-Stop partners can be found in the Vermont One-Stop MOU.
The Board establishes objective criteria and procedures by which it assess the effectiveness, physical and programmatic accessibility, and continuous improvement of the One-Stop AJC. At least once every three years, the One-Stop AJC Operator (the Vermont Department of Labor) will submit an application for certification of the One-Stop AJC. An ad hoc American Job Center Certification Committee of the Board must evaluate the quality, consistency, and seamless delivery of services and determine if it shall certify the One-Stop AJC for a period of no more than three years.
Vermont's One-Stop AJC was most recently certified in June 2019 for a two-year period: 2019 One-Stop AJC Recertification
