In 2018, the Vermont General Assembly passed Act 189: An act relating to workforce development.
Section 2 charges the Vermont State Workforce Development Board to conduct a stakeholder alignment, coordination, and engagement process to ensure and promote better coordination and agreement around the State’s vision and shared goals for meeting Vermont's 21st-century workforce education, training, recruitment, and retention needs.
In December 2018, the full Board approved an H.919 (Act 189) Implementation Plan to address the Board's charge as described in the legislation.
In January 2019, the Board and the Commissioner of Labor submitted an H.919 (Act 189) Implementation Report to the General Assembly detailing its work thus far in implementing each section of the legislation.
